Greetings everyone!
Skoda will showcase the facelifted Superb sedan for the Indian market at the upcoming Auto Expo 2014 but the Czech carmarker has already begun work on the next-generation model.
The new Skoda Superb will be a "revelation" according to Winfried Vahland, Chairman, Board of Directors, Skoda Auto) . The new car will be based on the VW Group’s MQB platform and will share as much as 50 percent of its parts with the Volkswagen Passat.
“For the next 10 years, the Superb will be the top of the line.” It is expected that, like most of Skoda's range, the new Superb will be positioned on the outer edges of the segment norm in terms of size.
The next-generation Superb will continue to be offered as a sedan and an estate (for international markets), although the sedan will drop the dual sedan/hatchback tailgate boot opening. “It is too expensive,” explained Vahland.
A 2.0-litre, four-cylinder engine will be the largest offered in the Superb as part of Skoda’s pursuit of lighter weight and better fuel economy. Skoda is also focusing on improving aerodynamic efficiency
